Government funding for SMEs: Are you eligible for up to £2000?

Growth Voucher funding scheme for SMEs

Are you eligible for the Governments funding pilot to support SME growth?

Carole Thomson

Designed to make professional advice more accessible to small businesses (SMEs) to support business growth.

Hello, I’m Carole Thomson, and like you I am a fellow SME (small to medium enterprise).  I  wanted to let you know about a new Government funding pilot for 2014 that is targeted at us.

This funding is due to close at the end of March 2015 so if you are considering using it now is the time to act.

For instance, as an approved HR  Professional Adviser under this Government scheme, growth-vouchersif you are awarded growth vouchers, 50% of my professional costs would be funded by the Government to a potential maximum of £2,000.

Examples of some the HR professional support I could help you with under this scheme are:

  • Manage a business change, workforce restructure or TUPE
  • Help you hire, train and develop your workforce for business growth
  • Assess workforce capabilities to ensure they meet business priorities
  • Protecting your business by ensuring your compliance to employment law
  • Creating a HR process (for instance an appraisal system) to support your business grow by ensuring and building the performance of your workforce
  • Improve the leadership and management skills of yourself and your team to get the performance you need from your workforce.

Background: £30m Government pilot providing growth vouchers to around 20,000 small businesses in England. Main criteria is you must have: 49 employees or less; traded for at least one year; not sought strategic business advice in the last 3 years and are either registered at Companies House or the HRMC (if self employed). It’s a pilot, once gone that’s it it’s gone.   1st come 1st served!

depositphotos_26579333-online-shopIt’s simple, you apply on line and dependent on your eligibility and business needs, you may be issued vouchers up to the value £2,000 to use with Approved professional Advisor, like me.

Even if you are not eligible, as a fellow SME, I know whilst needs may be many, budgets are small. Therefore, I keep my rates realistic and affordable to SMEs, whilst not compromising on the quality of the service provided.

If you would like to know more about the funding scheme, or take advantage of our free no obligation 30 minute consultation so we can discuss your business needs, and how HR Support for Business could help please Contact us.

And if you know of any other funding that would be useful to other SMEs like us, please let me know and I will post it here.  Just let me know at
